Introduction: Based on the increase and sustained circulation in countries such as France, Spain, Canada, United States of America, Brazil and Italy, the Colombian government, in conjunction with other states, decided to carry out humanitarian flights to and from countries with active transmission under risk control and biosecurity procedures. The objective of this study was to describe an outbreak of COVID-19 in a group of Colombian nationals repatriated from the United States to Colombia who remained in preventive isolation in a municipality of Cundinamarca in April 2020.
Materials y methods: Descriptive study of a COVID-19 outbreak, in accordance with the methodology proposed by the CDC, through a frequency analysis, where 64 nationals, close contacts, sample reports and isolation zones were evaluated.
Results: 24 positive cases for SARS-CoV-2 were confirmed, 23 in nationals and one case in logistics personnel. There were 111 close contacts, with an attack rate of 21,62 %. The average age of the logistics personnel was 32 years, with a SD of 10.9 (minimum 19 and maximum 64 years), of whom 70,2 % (33) were men and 29,78 % (14) had no significant medical history.
Conclusions: The transmission of the event was related to the non-compliance with social distancing, adequate use of biosecurity elements and permanent use of common areas.
